On this date in 1983, U2 played the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. This iconic performance was later released as a concert film called “Under a Blood Red Sky.” The album by the same name actually featured recordings from three different U2 shows including the Red Rocks concert. Today I played the “Under A Blood Red Sky” album version of “New Year’s Day” which was actually recorded that same year in Germany.
