As we continue to look at rock bands broken down into their individual parts...this week we’re focusing on some of the greatest front men of all time. Now...before you get all “That’s a pretty sexist headline” on me...rest assured we will shift the spotlight to female lead singers next week. And just to be clear...I’m not creating this list based solely on vocal ability. Image...charisma...talent...and the ability to captivate a live all audience all factor into the criteria. To kick things off...I’m going back to the first singer that I considered to be my favorite. I’ll never forget purchasing Journey’s “Escape” album when I was around 12 years old. I took it home...plopped it on my turntable...and left it there for weeks...playing it over and over until I’m sure even my parents could recite every lyric. Here is a part of their famous MTV concert filmed just up the road in Houston on the Escape Tour. Dig the MTV t-shirt on Neal...and enjoy the great Steve Perry performing “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’.”
