For my money...there has simply never been a better female rock vocalist than Ann Wilson of Heart. Period. Full stop. I can’t think of anyone else who checks every single box. Unmatched vocal range, amazing songwriting skills, the look, the style, the attitude...and something that I think gets overlooked quite a bit...her ability to change and adapt with the changing musical styles over the years. She’s also that rare vocalist that I think sounds BETTER in concert than on her recordings. The passion...the rawness...the energy...the soul...all come together to make her performances unforgettable, legendary moments in time. I mean...who else can say that they literally brought Led Zeppelin to tears during their performance of “Stairway” at the Kennedy Center Honors? Wrapping up the week with this performance of “Crazy On You” from 1976.
