New England Patriots football coach Bill Belichick is a man of few words. He is the NFL’s version of another famous Massachusetts resident, Calvin Coolidge.
Belichick has a better sense of humor than Silent Cal, however, as his performance in an ad by sandwich chain Subway showed. And Belichick only had to say six words.
The 30-second spot premiered Monday on YouTube. The coach, who has taken the Patriots to nine Super Bowls and has won six of them, encounters a man on the street who is carrying a box of chicken.

“Bill Belichick?” the man says in surprise.
“Really?” Belichick responds, pointing to the box of chicken.
“You’re right,” the man says, tossing his meal aside. “I should get a delicious footlong from Subway. That would be better.”
Belichick takes out a pair of scissors and cuts the man’s suit, snipping the sleeves to resemble the coach’s trademark hoodie.
“Now you look better, too,” Belichick says, walking away.
