Dee Snider releases new solo album, 'Leave a Scar'; debuts video for new song "Down but Never Out"

Dee Snider has just released his latest studio album, Leave a Scar, the second consecutive collection of bone-crunching heavy-metal songs on which the Twisted Sister frontman has collaborated with Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta.

Coinciding with the album's release, Snider has debuted a new music video for "Down but Never Out," a hard-pounding song about not giving up when the chips are down.

The clip mixes footage of Snider and his solo band rocking out with a storyline that follows a down-on-his-luck older man who gets kicked out of his apartment by his significant other, but finds hope for redemption after returning a lost cat to its owner.

Snider says of the song, "I pride myself on the fact that throughout the decades, my music has always tried to not only push back against all oppressors (in this case Covid-19), but also lift people up and encourage them to fight back. 'Down but Never Out' is a perfect example of this ethos."

Leave a Scar is a follow-up to Snider's 2018 studio album, For the Love of Metal, which Jasta produced and co-wrote. Snider took part in the songwriting for the new record, unlike its predecessor.

"Leave a Scar is filled with messages to and for the silent voices in the world who need someone to speak out on their behalf," Dee says. "This is my purpose."

In celebration of the album's release, Snider has premiered a special ticketed streaming concert that was recorded last month in New York. Tickets for the on-demand event are available now at MetalDepartment.tv.

In addition, Snider will take part in an album-signing session on August 17 at Looney Tunes Record Store in West Babylon, New York. Tickets can be purchased at LooneyTunesLongIsland.com.
