San Antonio’s Parade of Lanterns floats back onto River Walk this summer
The beautiful lantern parade along the River Walk is back. For the past three years, the parade has lit up the River Walk with stunning 26-foot-long floats carrying large illuminated lanterns. The best part is that the pageantry is free for the public to enjoy. In the past, the lanterns displayed a selection of shapes and images such as flowers, luminescent trees, and animals. The Ford Parade of Lanterns typically takes place in February to kick off the Chinese New Year. It will take place on the last weekend of August (27 to 29) and again during Labor Day weekend, September 3rd to 5th. The event will run from 8 to 10 p.m., weather permitting.
