Today in 1981, Genesis released their album Abacab.

On this date in 1978, all four Kiss solo albums are simultaneously released.

Also today in 1978 on CBS TV, the premiere of WKRP in Cincinnati, a TV show about a radio station that switches formats from easy listening to rock and roll.

And then sadly, today in 1970, Jimi Hendrix is found dead at 22 Lansdowne Crescent, Notting Hill in London. Now, Jimi is only 27 years old, a member of the 27 Club, And he is an innovative guitarist whose skills are still felt throughout the music industry today.

And as we take a look at the calendar, a rock birthday on it, born today in 1952, Douglas Glenn Calvin. You may know him better as Dee Dee Ramone. Dee Dee, the bass player for the band and songwriter. And as much as the Ramones are known for being from Queens, Dee Dee was raised in all places Berlin, Germany.
