August 20th, 2018, the Recording Industry Association of America certifies The Eagles “Greatest Hits 1971 to 1975″ at 38 million units sold. That makes it the best selling album in the United States. Coming in at #2 at 33 million units sold, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” And at #3, we find The Eagles once again, 26 million units sold of “Hotel California.”

Today in 1987, Lindsey Buckingham leaves Fleetwood Mac because he doesn’t want to tour behind their latest album, “Tango in the Night.”

Then we take a look at today’s calendar, find a couple of important rock birthdays on it. First, Frontman from Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott, and then frontman for one of the greatest rock bands ever, Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. Now, since Zeppelin came to an end, Robert’s done a ton of solo work, all different styles. He’s won Grammys and all those kinds of awards. And if you really want to get Robert angry, ask him if he’s going to do a Led Zeppelin reunion.
