On this day in 1987, Heart released their ninth studio album, Bad Animals, with Capitol Records.
The album continues the style of their previous album from 1985, just called Heart, and was another huge album for the band! Bad Animals hit #2 on the US Billboard 200 in August 1987, and was certified triple-platinum on June 4, 1992!
The band named the album after themselves on tour, because of the way they looked in hotel lobbied, disheveled and exhausted, wearing sunglasses.
The huge hit “Alone” went to #1 in the US was originally recorded and released by the duo i-Ten in 1983, on the album Taking a Cold Look. I know theirs is the original, but I can’t really get into it as much as the Heart version. Ann and Nancy and the band really took this song to another level, and it hits so much better!
The band had several hits from Bad Animals, including “Alone”, “Who Will You Run To”, “There’s The Girl”, and “I Want You So Bad”.
