Woodlawn Theatre in San Antonio is launching a summer movie series
The Summer Movie Nights series honors the theaters past — it opened in 1945 as a movie theater — and its current identity as a home for musical theater. All of the films in the series are movie versions of musicals that have been produced on the stage in the past few years. The series kicks off June 19 with “Chicago,” followed by “Dreamgirls” on June 26, “Hairspray” on July 3, “Evita” on July 10 and “Little Shop of Horrors” on July 17. woodlawntheatre.org/summer-movie-nights
SeaWorld San Antonio & 6 Flags Fiesta Texas will reopen on June 19 with safety measures
San Antonio is opening 28 cooling centers as the temperatures rise.
Beginning June 16, select City Park Community Centers will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition, the Department of Human Services, in partnership with Catholic Charities, is providing free box fans to community seniors through the Project Cool program, which is a program that provides heat relief to senior residents 60 years of age and older across the city. Residents who would like to request a fan or have heat-related resources should call the United Way Helpline at 211.
San Antonio offering free parking opportunities downtown to help businesses recover
The city is trying to help downtown businesses bounce back by taking the hassle out of paying for parking. From June to August, parking is free Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday at city-owned garages, pay stations and meters.

Sam's Club to offer curbside pickup in San Antonio
Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart Inc., said it would begin offering curbside pickup at its San Antonio locations and nationwide. The service, which provides a contact-free, order online and delivery to car shopping experience, will be free for Plus-level members and is expected to be available in all clubs by the end of June.
IKEA Live Oak reopens in-store shopping

San Antonio-area resident claims $1 million Texas Lottery scratch ticket, purchased at local H-E-B
A Schertz resident is $1 million richer after claiming a second-tier prize scratch-off lottery ticket, Texas Lottery announced Tuesday in a news release. The Instant Millionaire scratch ticket was purchased at the H-E-B grocery store on the Northeast Side located at 14087 O’Connor Road near Nacogdoches Road. The winner elected to remain anonymous.
